2011 NEXT LEVEL GAMES
The 3rd Annual Next Level Games will be held Saturday, September 17th in Watson Park at 7th and Kentucky Street in beautiful downtown Lawrence, Kansas.
The NLG will consist of the same events as years prior with a new addition to the Team Challenge which will consist of a rope climb for time!
Overall competitors will complete all three disciplines of our challenging, but brief course and those with the fastest overall times will win medals and/ or cash prizes for their division.
Part 1: The Strongman Course
Each competitor will pull a vehicle hand over hand with a 30 foot rope, and then push the vehicle back to the start. The next part of this challenge will involve flipping a tractor tire for the allotted repetitions for their division. The last part of this challenge involves carrying cumbersome bars in each hand through a zig-zag course.
REST 5 MINUTES!
Part 2: The Obstacle Course
Participants will be timed from start to finish completing each of the obstacles including a 12 foot climbing wall, cargo net, and monkey bars. Penalties will be incurred if the competitor skips or avoids part of the course.
REST 5 MINUTES!
Part 3: The Prowler Challenge
Each competitor will push a metal sled with street skids down and back in the street for approximately 80 yards. Each individual's body weight will determine how much weight is placed on the Prowler. Male competitors will push 2x their body weight, while Female competitors will push 1.5x their body weight.
The competitor's overall time to complete the three disciplines will be computed for their divisions results and awarded at the end of the day.
THE TEAM CHALLENGE
This year's team challenge will consist of the same events as posted above with the addition of a new event this year- the rope climb. The rope climb is approximately a 20 foot climb that must be initiated from a seated position. Once the competitor's glutes have left the ground they can then use their feet on the rope (not the ground or on a team mate) to complete the climb up to the top. Time ends once the competitor rings the bell at the top- the descent is not timed!
We advise that you bring gloves for this event!
